The cooperative Senor de los Temblores was found in 2005. It offers only individual microloans, and prefers already existing microbusinesses, even if it studies projects of new microbusinesses. The 3 loan officers do the promotion by going directly on the markets. Before allowing a microloan, the loan officer has visited the future member in his/her house and at his/her microbusiness in order to evaluate his/her ability to pay back the microloan. Then, the loan officer checks at the risks central agency if the future client does not have any other debts. Then the credit committee analyses the application. The first microloan attributed never exceeds 1000 soles (250 EUR). Every micro-entrepreneur has to have a guarantor. The maximum duration of a microloan is one year, and the reimbursement of the loan by anticipation is possible without any penalty, in order to allow and increase the capital rotation, which is a success key for the cooperative. In case of no payment or delay for the payment, the penalty interests are very high. The cooperative offers a savings product with a rate always higher than the rates of the competition. Thanks to the benefits of the cooperative, the better associates (the ones who pay back their microloans the better) can benefit from a free annual medical consultation. Transparency is fundamental in order to establish trust between people and a good general running. No impact of the economical crisis has been noticed so far. Any form of microentreprise is represented. |
In the future | The cooperative would like to open 5 new branches in the 5 next years. It is also working for launching a product of micro-insurance and would like to offer to its associates to coach them with trainees and courses |
