Comments |
CAFASA principally (90% of the portfolio) lend to solidarity groups of an average of 10 people. Without any discrimination, the fact is that 80% of the customers are women. CAFASA agrees that they are more responsible and safer. 90% of the customers live in rural areas. The 16 loan officers visit all the clients once a week to make sure the reimbursement of the loan is OK. They cannot receive the money. One person of the group is in charge of bringing the money to the bank. Promotion is done essentially from mouth to ears. Apart from loans, CAFASA provide savings products. One of its mission is actually to develop the savings culture of its customers. The information system seems to meet actual needs. Managers expect everything about the impact of the financial crisis on the payback of credits, but say that there is no incidence so far. CAFASA refinancing is essentially public. Managers are looking today for private investors to keep developing. Any form of microbusiness is represented. |
In the future |
CAFASA wants to provide to its customers services in micro-insurance. Another objective is to keep going on the geographical development in Chiapas and neighboring States. CAFASA also would like to provide health trainees to its customers. |
